Most people have heard of DMSO, and of how hundreds of thousands of people have been helped using DMSO for inflammation and pain relief. MSM is an extremely important and beneficial part of DMSO. It is a sulfur bearing molecule found in all living organisms and is thought to be essential to life.
It helps our bodies utilize vitamins.
It has been proven to help with the reduction or elimination of allergies.
It has dramatically improved the health of thousands of people.
It helps to detoxify the body and increase blood circulation.
It helps take out inflammation.

THE BODY CAN HEAL ITSELF
A few years ago, the world's leading DMSO researcher, the renowned Dr. Stanley Jacob of Oregon Health Sciences University, discovered, then successfully isolated, an extremely important & beneficial part of DMSO. DMSO is a by product of the timber industry; specifically waste water from the paper mills. The crude product has a strong unpleasant odor.

Dr. Jacob isolated METHYL SULFONYL METHANE. It is simply known as MSM. It has been determined that the MSM part of DMSO brings many health benefits to those who suffer from various ailments and diseases. MSM is a natural form of organic sulfur found in all living organisms and is essential to health.

Dr. Jacob's interest in DMSO started because of the incredible stories of the mill workers who had unexplained cures for various health problems when they came into contact with the water. He learned of this remarkable substance from the research chemist Robert Herschler who had been studying the substance for Crown Zellerbach, the world's largest paper processing company. Dr. Jacob, the dedicated physician, and the chemist Robert Herschler became fascinated by this stuff and brought to humanity what has been referred to as the therapeutic principle of this century.

When the mill workers touched the water, they would immediately get the “oyster breath” now associated with DMSO. It has a clammy taste and travels throughout the body and is perspired through the pores but they never got sick. They would go away on vacation for a long period of time and aches and pains and allergies that had vanished would flare up. When they got back to work their problems would go away again.

When an employee or a logger was injured, from cuts, bruises, burns, or just plain sore, they would get the water and put it on themselves for instantaneous relief from pain and for faster healing.

At one time, Crown Zellerbach attempted to get rid of this waste water by spraying it on dirt roads to compact the dirt. They were unsuccessful, because animals of every description would come and lap it up. The deer would lick six inch potholes in the road because they had such a craving for something in the waste water. He wondered what it was that the animals were after, because the crude DMSO they were spraying was vile tasting and smelling. No animal or human would voluntarily drink it. Believing the animals knew something they didn't, Jacob and Herschler continued their research. They discovered the healing agent hidden within DMSO which is extracted and known today as MSM.

MSM is found in all living organisms. It is in the Aloe Vera plant, in the grass your dog eats, in your delicious apple. In our world today, our Earth's soil is so depleted of MSM that no animal or human gets enough of it in the diet alone. Even vegetarians who watch their diets closely to get optimum nutrition, can be deficient in this precious nutrient. Much of the food we eat has the MSM processed out. MSM is found in high concentrations in rainwater, however, we can't drink rainwater because of airborne pollutants.

Supplementing the diet with MSM is similar to eating the perfect food. If it were to be overeaten it would be processed out of the body much like overeating any favorite fruit or vegetable. Medical research suggests that a minimum concentration of MSM in the body may be critical to both function and structure in both animals and man. Research studies also suggest that the systemic concentration of MSM drops in mammals with increasing age. This could be due to dietary habits, due to eating foods with lower MSM potential or possibly there is a change in the renal threshold.

IRREVERSIBLE DISEASES? There are cases where, through the dietary use of MSM, the body has actually been able to reverse diseases that doctors previously thought to be irreversible, such as emphysema. Emphysema happens when the flexibility of the cells is lost in the lungs and they are not functioning to capacity.

Smoking contributes to emphysema, but may not be the cause of emphysema. Smoking burns the tissue of the cells and the body cannot replace the damaged cells with healthy cells fast enough. Did you know that dogs get emphysema, horses get emphysema, people who never smoke, get emphysema? If the body is deficient in nutritional support to the cells, so that it cannot build healthy cells as needed, things like emphysema can happen.

MSM a sulfur-bearing molecule available in the foods we eat and a supplement, attaches to the cell and creates a flexible bond. When we don't get enough MSM, the cells become rigid and lose the ability to flex back. A wrinkle is cells that have become rigid and lost the ability to flex back, so they stay bent. This is commonly known as the aging process!

Sulphur has a vital relationship with protein since sulfur is found in the amino acids methionine, cystine, and cysteine. These amino acids are known as the sulfur bearing amino acids and are considered the building blocks of protein. Sulphur acts as a synthesizer and activator with the B vitamins, thiamine, biotin, vitamin C, and pantothenic acid which are needed for healthy nerves and proper brain function. Sulphur aids the liver in bile secretion and helps maintain overall body balance between acidity and alkalinity. Sulfur plays a role in carbohydrate metabolism which is significant for hypoglycemia and diabetics. The lack of nutritional sulfur in the body can result in low insulin production. Sulfur is a component of insulin, the protein secreted by the pancreas that is essential to the metabolism of carbohydrates. Sulfur plays an important part in tissue breathing, which is the process where oxygen and other substances are used to build cells and release energy. Because nutritional sulphur helps keep hair, nails, and skin healthy, it is often referred to as nature's “beauty mineral”.

WHEN GIVEN PROPER NOURISHMENT, THE BODY CAN HEAL ITSELF.
The MSM available to us in our diets, goes to the vital organs that need it the most. If we are only getting small amounts of MSM because of food choices with limited MSM potential, it then becomes obvious why we age and become diseased. With MSM supplemented in the diet, the body now has the opportunity, through additional nutritional support to rejuvenate and be brought into a healthy balance and kept that way. High concentration potential of MSM in food are natural and unprocessed such as fresh vegetables, fruits, fresh raw milk and wheat grass juice.

CAN MSM BE TAKEN FOR A SPECIFIC ILLNESS?
The answer is "no"! Just like in nature when eating an apple, the nutrients in that apple are going to the cells in the area that need the most attention, regardless of where we think it should go. When that area of the body is balanced, it will go to the other areas, the body's own natural intelligence will dictate where. If I were a person with a serious disease, I would take at least two teaspoons of MSM daily, with food supplements or medications like that 84 year old woman in Washington State who says, “AT MY AGE, I'M NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES!!"

This woman is 84 years old and a horse enthusiast. She rides every day and has been taking MSM for 1 1/2 years. Six months ago, while riding, she got her foot hooked in another horses stirrup and it tore her hip out and she had to have a hip replacement. She healed very fast and the doctors were surprised. About two months ago her horse went lame and she lost her balance and broke her ankle. She was in the hospital overnight and walked out on crutches the next day. One week later, a friend was visiting her and found her out in the barn grooming her horses. She has been using the MSM cell therapy lotion and looks about 70. The doctors claim she has healed like a much younger person.

"I WONDER IF THIS STUFF WORKS?"
Now Doris is a 57 year old woman that does house cleaning for a living. She took MSM for 6 months; 1/2 teaspoon twice a day. Her reason for "trying" MSM was her back muscles felt like they were tied in knots and she had chronic headaches. At the end of six months she had no relief.

Prior to starting on MSM, her dentist had told her that she had pyorrhea (gingivitis). The dentist wanted to pull all of her teeth and give her false teeth. Their infection pockets at the base of the teeth were at 8 on the scale instead of the usual three which is considered normal. She procrastinated because it was going to cost $4,000.00. After taking MSM for six months, she went in to get her teeth cleaned. The dentist told her he must have made a mis-diagnosis because pyorrhea is not reversible. She had "lost" the condition entirely. At this same office visit, Doris was given a second appointment in two weeks to do a root canal on an abscessed tooth. When she returned at the scheduled time, the abscess was gone.

Evidently, her body had been using the MSM for the infected gum problem which was needed immediately more than the back muscle pain. She increased her dosage by 1/2 teaspoon per day and the very next day she started feeling the knots in her back subside.

Doris used to come home from work at night fatigued and no energy to do anything in the evenings. She now has the energy to paint her house and do repairs to her own home. She can have fun in the evenings instead of being so worn out she was only able to sit. She reports she started to use the MSM lotion in conjunction with the liquid taken internally and sees remarkable improvement.

MARCHING IN THE TROOPS
Bill was in an accident in 1970 where the car seat belt wasn't released when the engine caught on fire. He was literally "cooked" for 20 minutes. His medical treatment included a skin graft from his right arm pit down the side of his body. His body was a mass of scar tissue. He had been using Vitamin E oil topically on the scar tissue for 17 years. He never noticed any difference. He took eight antihistamines per day for hay fever. He took the nasal spray “Afrin” about every 15 minutes, which kept his nasal passages open so he could breathe due to an “allergy” to pollens. His knees had severe adhesions and hurt so bad at night he almost cried. Doctors had given him prescription pain relievers that he did not take due to the adverse side effects. He was in agony.

Five years ago, a Veterinarian recommended he try MSM powder. Three days later he was marching his troop in the Oregon State Defense Forces, of which he is a first sergeant. He has taken MSM internally for five years now and has found relief from his immense knee pain. All nasal congestion has gone and there are no symptoms of allergies.

He recently started using the new MSM lotion and the flexibility and elasticity have improved greatly on the previous tight unyielding skin graft tissue. This area has a slightly different texture, but all the heavy ridges are gone and skin flexibility is coming back. He has experienced incredible positive changes in his old skin graft.

HORMONE IMBALANCES
When MSM is taken internally, many women that have experienced premenstrual problems find relief from headaches, cramps and muscle pain. This is attributed to more oxygen in the blood from the action of the MSM.

MSM DIABETICS IMPROVE DRAMATICALLY
Long term diabetics injecting insulin daily for years have, in as little as two weeks, and as long as five months become self regulating and stopped having mood swings. The blood sugar had stabilized. There are people who have had emphysema, on oxygen, confined to sitting, have in as little time as one week, been able to walk a half a mile, rest a few minutes and walk back the half a mile. Now, that is not because emphysema had been reversed that fast, but MSM DETOXIFIES AND INCREASES BLOOD CIRCULATION. MSM gets oxygen into the blood a lot more efficiently with the same amount of work for the body. MSM is found in high concentration in mother's milk unless there is a dietary deficiency.

ALLERGIES
When MSM is added to the diet, anti-allergy medications may be sharply reduced or even eliminated.

MSM controls hyperacidity in the stomach. People who are chronic users of antacids report relief almost immediately after taking MSM (and they reduce the aluminum content in their system as well).

MSM can control chronic constipation. Many older people seem to have this problem and it can be a real medical concern.

MSM has positive effects against a variety of parasites. Tests show that MSM is active against Giardia, Trichomonas, and round worms. Parasites lose the ability to hang on to the intestinal walls and are flushed out of the body.

MSM takes inflammation out of soft tissue, and since pain comes from nerves in soft tissue, there is often relief from arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, rheumatism and hip dysphasia. MSM can help get the flexibility back into the tissues very rapidly. Some people have pain relief within 20 minutes of taking orally. For some it takes longer. You must remember that MSM will go to work where it's needed most; not necessarily where a person wants it to work first. Every cell in the body is bound by a protein layer. When the water pressure inside the cell is greater than the water pressure on the outside of the cell, there is inflammation and swelling. MSM effects the protein layer so the water freely transfers in and out equalling the pressure so inflammation goes away. It takes the toxins out and increases the nutrition into the cell. It detoxifies so rapidly that if someone has a hangover, he can take a half teaspoon of MSM and within twenty minutes, it's gone.

The Tender Lamb Company in Oregon puts MSM into the lamb's feed. Instead of getting low, medium and high grade wool, it all grades High!

CANDIDA
When an antibiotic is taken into the body, it not only kills the bad bacteria, but it kills the good bacteria as well. Acidophilus is a good bacteria. When the good bacteria is killed, the body's PH factor is out of balance and the Candida gets hungry and starts spreading looking for something to eat. Women get a vaginal yeast infection and sometimes Candida coats the tongue with a white coating. People can even get Candida in their ears and through out the whole body. When food is digested, Candida can steal it out of the bloodstream so the body doesn't get the nutrition from the vitamins and minerals and then you lack energy!

This can translate into the modern "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome". Candida puts out toxins that can simulate many different diseases, and one of the diseases it simulates is strep throat. Now, when an antibiotic is taken, it could save your life, but it kills the friendly bacteria. Candida gets stronger, then it simulates pneumonia. So... you take another round of antibiotics for pneumonia, which kills off MORE of the friendly bacteria and the Candida gets stronger.

MSM AND VITAMINS
Co-enzyme Q 10 (Co Q 10) locks with MSM, which means that in order for the body to fully utilize this nutrient, it must have MSM with it. Pantothenic acid, vitamins A, D, and E, inter-enzymes, amino acids, selenium, calcium, germanium, collagen, dismuzyme are just some of the things we know the body does not utilize properly unless it has MSM to lock with. A lot of the vitamins we take pass through the body without being fully utilized. The more MSM we have in our bodies, the more our vitamins can be used effectively. MSM should be taken with other supplements. When 3-6 grams of MSM are taken with 3-6 grams each of Vitamin C and Cat’s Claw in three divided doses per day, results are often dramatic.
